A Mercantile Marine Medal to Frans Kristian Berthold Andersen.

Frans was born in Aarhus July 22nd 1890. He was christened at home on February 11th 1891.
His father was Shoemaker Andreas Peter Andersen. And his mother was Anne Elsa Pedersen (Born ca. 1861).

They lived at Barbergyde 18 in Aarhus, Denmark (Now Skt. Clemens Straede). 

The Mercantile Marine Medal ribbon and British War Medal ribbon was issued to Frans on August 9th 1918 at Grimsby. The medals were issued at a later date. The address 199 Coronation Road, West Marsh, Grimsby were given on his medal card.

Frans married Bertha Elizabeth Brinkley in the last quarter of 1918 in Grimsby. She was a widow with a two year old daughter. Her husband John Robert Brinkley was killed in action on March 27th 1918, serving as 28139 Private with 11th Bn. East Yorkshire Regiment.

Bertha died in the second quarter of 1927.

Frans died in 1967.
